Credit Card Validation Codes

Credit card validation codes (also called CVV, CVC, or security codes) are used to verify that the person making a payment has physical possession of the card.

Visa, Mastercard, and Discover: The 3-digit code can be found on the back of the card, in the signature strip area.

American Express: The 4-digit code can be found on the front of the card, above the card number.
